1. Introduction
Thank you for purchasing Canon’s Motor Drive MF.
The Motor Drive MF was developed as a companion unit to the Motor Drive Unit which is already enjoying great popularity. To meet the demands of news and sports photographers, this unit was planned with emphasis on operational ease and mobility.
It has made photography of 3.5 frames per second possible, and the conventional accessories are all interchangeable.
Also, new accessories were developed exclusively for this unit.
Note: Those who own an F-1 body with a serial number less than No. 200001 will find that their F-1 body needs adjustment.
Please contact your nearest Canon Authorized Service Facility to have it adjusted free of charge.

2. Specifications
Type: Exclusive for the F-1. Power drive system. Connected in place of the bottom cover.
Construction: Two-motor system with exclusive built-in motors for film drive and shutter release. Adopts an electromagnetic relay circuit control system.
Sequence rate: 3.5 frames per second at maximum speed.
Mode of operation: S (single frame), C (continuous run). Changed by means of a switch.
Coupling range of the shutter: S: All shutter speeds of 1 to 1/2000 second. C: 1/60 to 1/2000 second. Not possible with “B”.
Frame Counter: Manually set, it indicates the remaining number of frames and automatically stops at 0. When using the Film Chamber 250, set at F.C.
Grip: Contains battery chamber. Detachable. When using the Film Chamber 250, remove the grip and connect it with the Connecting Cord for Grip MF.
Power source: Ten penlight (size AA) batteries.
Shooting capacity: Manganese batteries 80 rolls or more of 36 frames.
Battery checker: Built into the grip with lamp indicator.
Shutter release button: At the upper part of the grip. With cable release socket and large button. Auxiliary cable release socket on the side of the body.
Film Chamber 250: Usable.
Film loading: Ordinary loading is possible with the Motor Drive MF attached.
Remote control: Various external control devices are available, connected through the remote control jack.
Size: Body - 153 x 51 x 23mm (6” x 2” x 9”).
With grip - 179 x 120 x 63mm (7” x 4-3/4” x 2-1/2”).
Weight: Body 650g. (1 Ib.7 ozs.).
